We've provided the most frequently asked questions about our Salisbury-based English, Maths and Science tuition here, but please feel free to contact us if you have any further questions.

Where are classes held?

Tuition First Maths and English classes are held on-line.

Our tuition is provided online using Zoom, a situation initiated as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. We have found this a very effective tuition method that provides constant visual contact. As teachers this enables us to monitor engagement and visual expressions are often tell tale in a pupil's comprehension. The Zoom tuition is highly focussed, effective and develops the pupils ability to concentrate.

The convenience of Zoom

Using the Zoom platform, children can connect from home and there is no need to travel to a class.

For parents the online tuition negates the need for delivery and collection of children and this convenience is a far better use of everyone's time and better for the environment.

When are you open?

We operate English and Maths tuition classes at a variety of times using the Zoom platform. Please telephone or email with your enquiry. Our office is open Monday to Friday from 9.30 am to 6 pm and will respond to your enquiry quickly.

Does the Tuition First programme complement the work done in school?

Yes. All the English and Maths tuition is based on the National Curriculum and pupils often attend with a clear examination target in mind and we address specific issues they have in their school learning.

How often can my child attend?

Pupils sign into the English and Maths tuition classes for 1 hour per week and are given homework to do daily.

What age do pupils start with Tuition First?

We have pupils join us at all ages. However, we do not accept children until they have reached Year 4 at school.

Additional support

We have purchased online learning platforms to offer additional support beyond our lessons and we supply weekly homework. For parents the online tuition negates the need for delivery and collection of children and this convenience is a far better use of everyone's time and the environment.

Can you help prepare my child for their SATS tests?

Yes

Do you tutor for the 11 + or Common Entrance exams?

Yes

Do you help with GCSE revision studies?

Yes

Do you operate every week of the year?

No, we close for 2 weeks at Christmas, 1 week at Easter and 2 weeks in the summer. (It should be noted that the monthly payment for tuition continues during these periods as our fees are based on an annualised figure).

Do I sign a contract?

No, your commitment is for as long as you can afford the tuition and feel your child is benefitting. However, we do ask for 1 month's notice with a full fee commitment during the notice period.
